Newstalk 1010透露，2月9日，Black Lives Matter的創辦者之一Yusra Khogali在推特上寫下，“真主阿拉，請您賜我力量，避免讓我詛咒/殺死那些男人和白人。拜託拜託拜託。”（”Plz Allah give me strength to not cuss/kill these men and white folks out here today. Plz plz plz,” ）
這條消息過後被刪除，而Khogali也拒絕回應CBC的問話。
