據加通社報道，上週五，18歲的西安大略大學（the Western University）女學生Andrea Christidis在醫院死亡，兩天以前，她在大學校園里走路時被一輛小型貨車(minivan)撞倒。
24歲的肇事司機Jared DeJong被捕。他起初被控危險駕駛導致身體傷害（dangerous driving causing bodily harm），不清醒駕駛導致身體傷害（impaired operation causing bodily harm）和每100ML血液酒精含量超過80MG（having in excess of 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood）。
Christidis死亡后，Jared DeJong現在被指控不清醒駕駛導致死亡（impaired driving causing death），刑事疏忽導致死亡（criminal negligence causing death），和駕駛機動車輛時每100ML血液酒精含量超過80MG（operating a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood）。
