據多倫多星報報道，多倫多衛生局（the board of health ）投票一致讚成在多倫多設立毒品安全注射點。
現在該議題提交市議會進行辯論，週四市府以36票讚成3票反對通過議題。這三個地點為：the Toronto Public Health building（Victoria Street 靠近Yonge-Dundas Square位置）, the Queen West-Central Toronto Community Health Centre，和 South Riverdale Community Health Centre。明年將會正式投入使用。
毒品安全注射點允許人們在護士監督下注射違法獲得的毒品，目的是防止過量。
